I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix * Q2 B" ^% v! x9 V* J/ V+ l! V5 W3 s- U U% Q- J: T7 Q5 J
